The drummer turned actor, Noh Min Woo, reflected on his acting career through a recent interview with Mnet’s ‘Wide News‘.

At the start of the interview, Noh Min Woo revealed, ”Because I have been constantly moving around, I’ve been losing a lot of weight, but I think since I am busy doing something I want to do, I feel very good.”

He then continued by introducing his character in the new drama, SBS’s ‘Midas‘. He explained that his rich playboy role of Yoo Myung Joon required kissing scenes, bed scenes, and lines such as, “It’s not like I’m asking to get married, I’m just trying to have some fun. What’s wrong with that?“.

His preparation for the ‘Midas’ role differed significantly from the preparation he did for his role on MBC’s ’Pasta‘ (2010). For his role of Phillip in ‘Pasta’, he and the other chefs worked at the original pasta restaurant for one month, and went from washing dishes to mastering five entrees prior to filming.

As for his minuscule role in the movie ‘Frozen Flower‘ (2008), he rigorously trained in sword-fighting, archery, and horseback riding for two months. Many asked why a musician like him chose to do such a hard work, but he explained that he wanted to feel/see Joo Jin Mo and Jo In Sung’s presence on the set in person.

His more recent work in SBS’s ‘My Girlfriend is a Nine-Tailed Fox‘ raised his recognition in the industry, as he went on to receive a ‘New Star Award‘ at the 2010 SBS Drama Awards. He expressed his satisfaction regarding his rock performance at the awards ceremony, and explained how his mother was the first person to introduce him to rock when he was 12-years-old.

He also addressed the many shocked reactions he received from people who only recently found out about his blonde-haired rocker TRAX days. He said, “Some people say that it’s scary, but it’s just another ‘me’ that’s inside of me. I like it.”

Lastly, he discussed his latest mini music drama, KBS’s ‘Rock Rock Rock‘, where he was able to show off his guitar skills as he played the role of Boohwal’s guitarist, Kim Tae Won.

He ended the interview by stating his goals for the future, saying,
“There is so much to do. I’m becoming more greedy regarding acting, and I’m working harder. I want to show viewers a more focused actor. I also want to reach people through the music I’ve been preparing.“

On March 4th, brainteaser photos of SBS’s ‘Midas‘ were released on the official website. It appears that actor Nο Min Woo will be ѕhοwіnɡ off hіѕ guitar skills in an upcoming episode.

In the photos, Nο Min Woo is found in a leopard photograph jacket, rocking out on hіѕ electric guitar. Thе actor also posted akin pictures to hіѕ Twitter, saying,

Prior to his acting career, Noh Min Woo was a member of TRAX. While he served as the drummer in TRAX, he is also skilled at the guitar and piano. In 2009, he produced a mini-album for the movie ‘Story of Wine‘ in which he wrote, composed, and sang all of the songs (except one, which featured the vocals of SNSD’s Sunny). On the morning of March 20th, actor Noh Min Woo shared a photo from the set of SBS’s “Midas” and set the hearts of his female fans ablaze with his sexy collarbone.

He tweeted, “I am concentrating. Over.“ Currently playing the role of the younger brother in a wealthy family, the picture shows him with a guitar in hand.

Actor No Min Woo revealed that he has lost 9.5 kg (~21 lbs) for his role as a cancer patient.

On April 1st, Nh Min Woo attended a press conference for his new drama, ”Midas“.

He revealed,

“My character in the show, ‘Yoo Myung Jun‘, has cancer. It hasn’t come out in the script yet but the cancer that Yoo Myung Jun has is pancreatic cancer, just like Steve Jobs. Hence, I have to express that he is getting more and more thin. So far I’ve lost 9.5 kg.“

When told that No Min Woo reminded people of actor Kim Myung Min, who lost a significant amount of weight to play a terminally ill patient in the movie “My Love By My Side“, he said, “I think I will have to lose about that much weight. I have to continue to lose weight.”

He continued,

“On my days off, I do aerobic exercises and eat salad. My body trembles while filming because it lacks energy. However, by acting when completely out of energy, my breathing changes. Also, my heart for ‘Jung Yeon’ (Lee Min Jung) grows stronger and more sorrowful… Being that I’m so hungry lately, I wish that Myung Jun set up a bakery in the program.“

No Min Woo’s role is that of a wealthy playboy who changes his ways once he meets a girl. After being diagnosed with cancer, he begins to pour out the remainder of his life to Jung Yeon.

No Min Woo reveals “Sad Love” for ‘Midas’ OST

No Min Woo demonstrated his musical skills through his role of Yoo Myung Jun in SBS’s “Midas“, and he’s finally landed an opportunity to contribute to the drama’s OST.

On April 13th, No Min Woo revealed,

“Midas OST’s Yoo Myung Joon theme song ‘Sad Love‘ has been released, over. Confirm, confirm… Yoo Myung Jun is the writter/composer of ‘Sad Love’.”

Since No Min Woo understands the thoughts of his character the best, he was able to deliver great emotion into the song. The lyrics express the love No Min Woo’s character holds for ‘Jung Yeon‘ (played by Lee Min Jung).

No Min Woo in Bangkok for ‘Cosmopolitan’



Rocker-turned-actor No Min Woo had his fans melting over his hot Bangkok pictorial for the June edition of ‘Cosmopolitan‘.

The star ‘rocked’ summer’s new trends by donning exclusive summer-inspired outfits. His tanned skin contrasted nicely with the colorful outfits, giving a sexy vibe overall.

A representative for the magazine stated, “No Min Woo kept the atmosphere bright not only at the filming location, but during the car ride as well by strumming his guitar.”

Noh Min-woo to headline Vampire Idol?



Okay, forget the Full House remake/sequel/rehash. Been there, done that. Let’s get Noh Min-woo onboard with this. Upcoming MBN sitcom Vampire Idol is reportedly wooing Noh to play the undead pretty boy who travels to Earth (because apparently he’s an alien AND a vampire) to fulfill his dreams of becoming an idol star. God, I love this premise. It’s So. Awesome. How perfect would it be to have him represent the prettiest of all pretty boys — the kind that doesn’t age?


The 120-episode daily sitcom is about a vampire prince who travels from a vampire star and ends up… in a Korean high school? What are the odds? So anyway, Prince Vampire has to navigate the shark-infested waters of mundane adolescence, all in order to fulfill his lifelong dream of fame and glory. I love that even undead alien royalty wants to be an idol star. Noh Min-woo reportedly loves vampire movies and has always wanted to play one, so perhaps this is his chance. I’m certainly looking forward to the prospect, not so much for the vampire-ness as the comedy, because I think he’ll be surprisingly good at funny.

The sitcom has also scored comedian Shin Dong-yup and veteran actress Kim Sumi (who interestingly enough starred in the sitcom Hello Franceska Season 3, also a vampire comedy). But the most interesting part is that they’ll be playing a married couple. The pair has a 19-year age gap, but that’s the point of the casting — Shin will be playing a vampire who never ages, while the love of his life is a human who ages as normal.

Okay, everyone with me now: AAAAAWWWWWWWWW! How cute are they? So he’s technically much older than her, probably by hundreds of years, but he looks like her son! That’s so tragic and cute at the same time. It’s the other half of all the teenage vampire fiction — the B-side of what actually happens when you marry that hot vampire who never grows old. I’m suddenly much more interested in the parents now. I guess they’re not going to be the lead’s parents though, unless he’s half-human. Ooh, wouldn’t THAT be a great storyline too? Now I’m getting all sorts of ideas.

Vampire Idol is still casting and plans to premiere in December on cable network MBN. Can’t wait.
