Protect the Boss changes name, adds to cast
Maybe third time’s the charm: The SBS romantic-comedy series now titled
Protect the Boss has already ditched two previous titles,
The Boss Has Changed and
Last Secretary. Let’s see if it sticks this time.
The drama has also added another cast member to join its main four of
Choi Kang-hee (the new secretary),
Ji Sung (the boss),
Jaejoong (the sharp businessman), and
Wang Ji-hye (the cool lawyer). Now rookie actress
Lee Hee-won, pictured above, joins them to play Jaejoong’s perfectionist secretary.
Lee Hee-won’s a relatively new face, but you may recognize her from
Playful Kiss and
My Fair Lady; she played one of Seung-jo’s admirers in the former, and Yoon Eun-hye’s bitchy cousin in the latter. In
Protect the Boss,
she plays the type of competent, multi-lingual, well-educated,
on-top-of-the-ball type of assistant who I suspect will make Choi
Kang-hee look particularly bad in comparison. Especially since she’d do
anything to help her own boss, Jaejoong, and Ji Sung stands in the way
of Jaejoong’s upward mobility.
So: War between bosses, war between their secretaries. Seems like
they’re setting it up for Team Perfectionists versus Team Heo-dang, with
the bumbling pair as our heroes.
Also, an added tidbit about our two leading men: They’re rivals AND cousins. Has somebody been watching
Secret Garden? Except, why do I have the feeling the Oska’s the hero this time?
Protect the Boss will take to the air following
City Hunter in August.
